JRC Ispra - Open Day 2011 (slideshow)

The JRC Open Day on 14 May was a great success with a record total
of 10,292 visitors, an increase of 25% on that of 2009. Seamless
organisation, high quality of the presentations, demonstrations and facilities that were on display and sheer enjoyment of the visitors of all ages to the site.
One of the main objectives of this event was to open JRC's activities to civil society and to better connect science with citizens and consumers. Organising an event on such a scale would have been impossible without the effort and enthusiasm of the volunteers and the background hard work of the Internal and External Communications Unit.
