This is a timelapse of my Chocolate Stout -made with real Godiva chocolate!- in the fermenter.

This is the first time I've pitched a 1L yeast starter rather than dumping the yeast straight in. As you can tell, the fermentation was quite active and it pushed some of the foam into the blow off tube. All is well though.

I'll create another timelapse sometime in the future of a lighter colored beer to show more of the action.

  • @Hotspur2001 I knew the foam would overflow out of my undersized fermenter, so the tube and little jar are there to collect it. Works in place of an airlock too.

  • @rawimpact Hahaha, yea. I got these 5 gal jugs really cheap from craigslist.

  • what is the jar for?

  • lol you need a larger jar
