  • @southsaxon Betty isn't as risque as you might think. You should study the history of the USA in the 20's & 30's. You'll discover that your grandparents or great grandparents weren't quite as innocent, prudish, and pure as they would have you believe. They had it all. Sex scandals, nudity in movies, drinking bootleg booze at a speakeasy, and even drug abuse (check out Cab Calloway's "Reefer Man here on the tube). They knew how to party even back then.

  • oh ive no room for another comment so ill leave it here

it was mae questal who sang this song

yes betty was modled on helen kane but mae questal is the only voice of betty

  • @bernardin1996: Toot's Character from "Drawn Together! was based on Betty Boop, Both Being sex symbols. Toot is a "parody" or "spoof" of Betty Boop. Where Betty is sweet and attracts many people, Toot however, does the complete opposite.

  • I'm enjoying the comments from fans as I am to the music. The information I'm getting from this era is keeping very busy. Thanks everyone

  • From Wikipedia: Mae Questel (pronounced "ques-TELL"; (9/13/08–1/4/98) was an actress and vocal artist best known for providing the voices for the animated characters, Betty Boop and Olive Oyl.

Born as Mae Kwestel in New York City to Simon and Freida Kwestel, she attended Morris High School and studied acting at the American Theatre Wing and the Theatre Guild.

...at the age of 17 Questel won a talent contest held at the RKO Fordham Theatre in the Bronx by imitating Helen Kane.

  • isnt that toot of "drawn together"?

  • @Cresantstar As I thought. It's easy to get them mixed up. Helen Kane was the original oop boop ba doop girl, even though it became Betty Boop's signature. Mae Questal had quite a long career after the Betty Boop gig too.

  • i love this video but i have a question. if she's black and white, how did she receive a red dress?

  • <3 <3 <3 THANKYOU!

  • who dubbed her?
