small liberal arts colleges are where it's at! but you really don't have to be in college to have these types of discussions. i'm happy to see it happening here on youtube as well!

“It is a very grave mistake to think that the enjoyment of seeing and searching can be promoted by means of coercion and a sense of duty. To the contrary, I believe it would be possible to rob even a healthy beast of prey of its voraciousness, if it were possible, with the aid of a whip, to force the beast to devour continuously, even when not hungry.”

Wow! You dropped out of college? You are so smart!

@AnneFox7 You make a really good point that learning needs to be pursued within a framework, I wish I would have known that early on, a simple sentence packed with power.
thank you very much, I will use it with my children.

In my opinion the first thing that needs to be done to help education is to stop corporations from holding students hostage, it is wrong to charge $150+ dollars per book when you may use only 4-6 chapters, but most importantly, STOP teacher's Unions, and that is not likely to happen, so the spiral continues until we really become third world, that is what I see happening unfortunately.

I believe that your e-reader idea is great. People say that you just cant get the "feel" for the book with an e-reader, but that really limits technological advances.
Also, in my school, some students do not understand the topic right away, and some already know it, and they have to learn it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and so on.

I feel like high school needs to better prepare students for their future. I am halfway through college right now and some of my friends literally have no idea what they want to do with their lives. They haven't even declared a major yet. I feel like, if high schools helped us prepare for what we want to do, we wouldn't have this problem. Instead, in high school, you just take a bunch of pointless classes to get a diploma.
Is it wrong that I'm watching this while I procrastinate from my homework? :P

Dan for President, and I'm not even kidding.
Dan, you should seriously, head towards the political field. You could improve so much over these stupid republicans and democrats that are ruining America. I agree with every word you say in the video and I hope you do something great to sustain the power of this country!
