Thanks a lot man seeing it out and you explaining it helped a lot. I hope to improve for my group now. You did an excellent job man.
-
@moonsnap you can but its a lot harder and the extra dps you will do in fire dosent matter if you wipe the group because of the adds

3 FPS video, oh god
-
can you do this in fire spec?
-
@MSippel2221 Yeah im also a frost mage, frostbolt is usually enough to hold the agro and the deepfreeze procs + icelance give you plenty to play with.

Great video. Thanks for putting this together.
Do you also handle the adds in P3? Please explain.

@meschrak I don't handle the adds in Phase 3. The idea is that your second tank (the one who was tanking Onyxia in Phase 1) is now free to kite the adds around the room avoiding the shadowblazes and Nefarian breaths. In fact, it's a bad idea to try and to it as a mage really. The problem is that mages root the adds. If they get hit by a shadowblaze while rooted, their energy resets and they will continue to both move faster and hit harder. Eventually they can just oneshot you.

Great video! What is your tank make up for the fight? Our raid uses two dk tanks and I am having a hard time keeping aggro with their deathstrikes, but i havent tried in frost spec, only fire spec. I couldnt even get close to gathering them up. Will the frostbolt/ice lance combo be enough to hold aggro?

@MSippel2221 We use a protection paladin on Onyxia and a Warrior on Nefarian. I wouldn't try fire. Nef isn't a dps race. It's a control fight. Frost has far superior control in this regard, so it's probably the best way to go. I'm not sure what to say in terms keeping threat other than to icelance spam harder D=
