Music4Autobahns Interview: Ian MacKaye (Fugazi)

During the course of the interview, Ian discusses how Fugazi started, their operations and the reason behind the public stances they have taken over their careers. The one thing I would say about Ian is that he is intense and strongly believes in his opinions. I felt sometimes that he would test me in his answers to see if I felt the same way. After all was said and done, I felt like I met one of the most inspiring people in my life.

i met fugazi at a denny's when i was 15 acroos from the palladium in hllywood, they were super cool, guy asked me about surfing because i was a log hair then, they pointed at eddie vedder, who was playing the same benifit and said you should get that guys autograph he's gonna be famous. i laughed and did, and they are. lol

I've always found myself agreeing with Ian's opinions of DIY. If you aren't creating music for the love of doing it, you just shouldn't do it at all.
