The Kenya Defense Forces has so far lost six soldiers in direct combat, in the Al-Shabaab war it is waging inside Somalia. 21 soldiers have also been injured since Operation Linda Nchi begun on 15th October this year. According to the military spokesman, Colonel Cyrus Oguna, charcoal business has been the main source of funding to the Al-Shabaab militants. Oguna says KDF will continue being in Somalia as long as the Al-Shabaab militia still remains a threat to Kenya.

Al-Shabab does not dictate the pace of this conflict. Who's in a rush? Time is Shabab's enemy. They're steadily running out of supplies and eventually will be forced out of their hiding places. Good job KDF. Take all the time you need to complete the mission.
