Riding along with a P&LE crew picking up and setting off cars at North Star Steel Ohio on the Lake Erie & Eastern Railroad shortly before the line was abandoned and tore up. In the video you can see the Jeannette Blast Furnace, Brier Hill Coke plant, US Steel ore bridges and sinter plant.

Great Video! After the shot looking around the inside of the cab. I think that the engineer was my dad. He was great to the railfans giving them an experence

You can tell this branch was a mighty hauler back in the days when steel was a US product. Note the huge truss bridge, double track and signalling. Now, in this view, it's just scrap waiting to be pulled up.

I am from Youngstown, but don't currently reside there but I remember all the steel mills running for throttle back in the 1970s and now nothing more that big open land where they once stood. They were back bone of the Youngstown economy. Sad to see the P&LE go also.
