Two firefighters killed by gunman at house fire

Two firefighters are dead and two more are injured in Webster, New York. A gunman opened fire when crews showed up to battle a house fire. Police say the gunman is dead. Jennifer Lewis-Hall has the latest.

Remember you're dealing with people and the human race, in EVERY profession you're going to find good and bad - police are more in the limelight because of the role they do, they are tasked with protecting society.

I'd be very careful in tarring all with the same brush, very careful.

If you did arm every fireman and paramedic, you'd be the only nation on the planet that has needed to.

I just think that people should be able to carry fire' arms for protection at home and at work. I'm not saying it should be mandatory' but it should be a personal choice. Paramedics risking their lives to save others sometimes need to protect themselves in bad neighborhoods. I don't think Government should be able to take away the rights of many everytime a psycho abuses his rights. You mean the police who brutalize innocent civilians ?

Well for a start firefighters put out fires, they dont go up against armed gun men - that'd be the job for the police... Atleast in every other country on the planet.

You might aswell start giving guns to paramedics too, or construction workers.

People in the dang ghetto are probably feeling safer atleast they are expecting danger. I use to make fun of urban schools with metal detecters and hired police, ironically they are safer than my kids. Sad day in America when the working man and his family are in danger.
