A tribute to Robert E. Howard's epic pseudo-fantastical age in the style of my bafflingly successful Cthulhu Mythos video.

I did, however, notice a possibly unintentional nod to HPL in Dead Space 2, where you have to use the body of a woker to trick an AI and open a door. The worker's name was Howard Phillips.

Play Deadly Premonition. It's completey insane. You won't regret it.

I've often thought about Dead Space being Lovecraftian, but I'm not sold on the idea. The Necromorphs seem to be hybrid of The Thing and Chaos Daemons from Warhammer 40K. The Thing has a Lovecraftian nod, but doesn't seem to be trying to be obviously Lovecraftian, and the Chaos Daemons are your standard standard hellish abominations with a delicious sci-fi twist.

@binarynightmare Ofcourse Isaac Clarke but I'm not familiure with Agent York but does sound familiure,Speaking of Dead Space do you find it to be apart of Lovecraft universe with its decent into madness, possessed corpses and tentaceld infested entities from deep space with ancient relics?

Or DLC or something, yeah! I think they ought to keep the Alien mythos in it's own universe to be honest. AvP is it's own universe, really, and I'd prefer the Aliens being the biggest threat - they're scarier that way, when it's you and them. They'd be multiplayer skins, though, I'd imagine. What about Isaac Clarke from Dead Space or Agent York from Deadly Premonition (and forget ALL pretences of subtlety!). Man, love that gamre. It was a little Lovecraftian, too.

@binarynightmare They should have like Master Cheif or Marcus Phenoix for Xbox exclusive characters for Colonial Marines like how Kratos was for Mortal Kombat for PS3. And a nod to Prdator or Terminator.

What does it make the Predators...August Derleth? (symbolism!)

@binarynightmare Ridely said youd be able to see where Alien ties into it and the new Aliens videogame, Colonial Marines, is said to have mentions to Prometheus. I wonder though if alien really is a cthulhuian creature what does that make Predator for hunting it?

Ah, but they're keeping it within the franchise, but in name only! It's the Evil Dead name that'll attract moviegoers.

Promettheus is still kind a prequel. It's supposed to be about the Space Jockeys, but after seeing the teaser trailer, I don't know now.

@binarynightmare It's like why say its a remake just make your own franchise don't label it another movie just to market. Thats why I respect Ridley Scott, instead of making a prequel to Alien he made his own series called Prometheus.

Oh God, it's going to be a franchise reboot and they'll 're-imagine' the story. Remember Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes? Yeah. I can imagine the fan backlash - it'll be heard from outer space.

If they're remaking or rebooting, most likely they'll have a few of the core elements, but location, style, hell, even the damn genre could change.
