In order to solve the Georgian-Abkhazian and Georgian-South Ossetian conflicts it is necessary to express patience and respect towards small ethnic groups in the Caucasus, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said.
In an interview with Le Monde on Saturday, Putin said, 'Patience and respect towards small ethnic groups in the Caucasus are needed and not the use of force.'
Putin objected to naming Abkhazia and South Ossetia as separatist regions. 'You said separatist? Why did you use this word towards Kosovo?' Putin continued: 'Thousands of Serbs can't return to Kosovo. Hundreds of thousands!' -Itar/Tass-
