there are several different BOVs available from Turbosmart and they all sound different, look up Turbosmart66 Channel.

i love the "compression surge" sound. hopefully it soundslike this when i get it

it sounds like that under low load because it IS surging. it probably isn't harmful. if you are worried about it surging though you'll probably have to adjust the spring for lower pressure

22psi. Real compressor surge is not healthy for the turbo. It can significantly decrease its lifespan. That being said I upgraded to a TurboSmart Race Port which sounds completely different but eliminates the possibility of compressor surge.

No....when fully spooled its more of a normal BOV sound.

what is it set too? 100% atmospheric or half and half or what?

Its 100% vented to teh atmosphere. I actually just upgraded to the Turbosmart Raceport valve as I will be pushing a bit more boost soon. Sounds about the same but vents substantially more air.

I agree it does "sound" like it. Fortunately it is not. Under light boost the turbosmart valves sound like that. Under heavy boost it sounds a bit more like a normal BOV.
