  • Awesome sound! This is a true "hunting oboe", a lot more horn-like than the caccias I've heard in recordings of Bach's passions & cantatas. Is the brassiness simply due to mike placement (or embouchure?), or is this a different reconstruction of the Eichentopf?

  • this experimental video was taken with a small digital camera (no mike placement!) so the sound quality tends to favor the higher frequencies

  • an obeo that doesn't sound like a duck! awesome! but no offence to oboe players...people who really know how to play the oboe makes it sound like a lovely duck. but other than that! like begginers at our school. thats like duck

  • Wonderful video.

  • Oh my gosh! I LOVE this! I've read about these and they made me so excited to play Oboe! Now, I just have to see a Piccolo Oboe and see what that's like! Where did you get this? How much was it!? I WILL PAY EVERY CENT FOR THIS THING! Although... I don't think $25 will cover it. -.-

  • I want this instrument so badly. I want every single type of oboe someday...

  • I love it!

I've been playing the oboe for several years now....

And I've always wanted like and English horn or and oboe d'amore or a replica like the above...Only my mom won't let me get one...

  • Its in F........the equivalent of what we know today as the English Horn ( cor anglais )

  • Wow! I'd love to have one of those! It's like one of those antique oboes someone would've passed down from their long lost relative or something. I've also heard you make old-style oboes.

  • Very nice!

  • cool! :D

  • It souds on !

Who is the oboe da caccia after ?
