I said it before, subcontractor is short form for substandard. Anybody with a few bucks could open a business and get in the BBB so do your homework on the guys doing your roof they may have just started roofing yesterday!

yes...I agree with the SUB part. That is one reason we only do Metal Roofing since the lap is a built in necessity. Also, in the US the home owner gets a tax credit for metal roofing. BTW, just HOLDING the safety rope doesnt qualify as SAFE. Good Video.

@Brettsker110 That is why I never like to hire old dogs. They refuse to learn. I would rather take some kid with no experience and work him as a helper for a few years. I have been able to turn helpers into leads within two years. Obviously they aren't running big jobs at that point but I can turn them loose on all my piddly repair work.

I have seen the same thing many times in Phoenix. They high nail and then when it is 115 degrees the shingles get soft. Then a dust devil comes along and lifts half the roof off.

I had a re roof customer with the same exact problem only we caught it in time it didn't get as bad as the roof in this video. But same situation...complete lack of craftsmanship.
