6DOF motion software for FS9/X driving Stewart type hexapod platforms.

Software includes specifiable model of hexapod geometry, with fully setable pitch, roll, yaw, heave, surge and sway cues. GUI shows demanded positions per actuator not per DOF.

See - http://buggies.builtforfun.co.uk/Sim/6DOF-Motion-Software.php for available beta versions.

  • I have 6 hydraulic actuators, can I use this software to control the actuators and make a stewart platform ???

  • @dhakagod

The 6DOF motion software exports position demand data for each actuator. This data can not be used to drive actuators directly - they need speed and direction data in a format that can be used by the valves controlling your actuators. In motion platforms this is achieved using closed loop position feedback servo hardware of some sort. You would need to build or buy this servo hardware for your platform.

See the online manual for output data formats used by the software.

  • Is there any chance of a system to work with the latest x-plane?

    See link on clip description.

  • Hi Ian Gant wait to see where you go with this next development .. your gonna bankrupt me sir -- Only kidding bang for bucks your stuff is the best deal in town by a long way -- this is one very happy and satisfied customer - Now if only one could get cheapish actuators ( dreamin on but watching this space :-) Cheers and a big public thanks for the excellent product support you give , my system is running a treat, now all i have to do is build the rest LOL :-)

Hi Calvin, glad to hear your system is running.

Cheap actuators is an eternal search! Keep looking...

  • @newvision0504 go to Xsim and then Tronics AMC board page113, he is hoping in a month or so offering all the electronics you need for a 3 or 6dof. I will post my lifts for a 3DOF with the actuators I mentioned ,my lifts double the speed of the actuators.

  • @iamcanadian2121

I just checked out servocity...wow! Awesome actuators at a reasonable price. I assume the super duty models should be used for a motion base that will carry a 777 simulator platform. Now...who has an idea how to make a 6dof stewart hex with these things??? lol

  • @wannamakeone

Hey I bought 3 heavy duty actuators ,pots in them 1050 lbs from servocity. $399

Im going to use Ivans work great stuff hey!

  • Very nice job, my system is almost done, thank you.
