@big1370 the time that the players are turning their back simulates a 1-2 pass forward to attack... the player tht is turning his back is making a run forward.
@dorianthomas first, we have somthing in common, love of soccer, so I hope you did not take what I was saying as being mean or anything... I think the drill is great, I just feel that New Coach's or players watching this drill should Not have their players turn there back on the ball thats all- I was not saying anything about cking or anything like that in my first post. Don't turn your back on the ball ever! no need to. if you coach you need to tell your players that. think about it
@big1370 I never said the guy on the ball was cking. These are not my players but second I think your labelling too much creativity is the magic of soccer. You can check to pull a defender out of negative space or to get him off your back it doesn't matter really.
@dorianthomas Sorry one last thing, the player making the back pass is NOT cking off the defender, the pass back is to "draw" the defender to the player receiving the "drop" pass. You don't ck off a deffender when you have the ball at your feet, you ck off the defender to creat space to REceive the pass.
@dorianthomas eye contact between the passer and reciever will usally mean a better pass and lets say the defender moved into the space the "give and go" was trying to create both players can adjust. again the only point I was trying to make is don't turn your back on the ball play the game wih your eyes first feet second.
@dorianthomas Do you really think that I don't know what cking off the defender means, or that I don't realize the cone repersents a defender? Look at what I said again, I said tell your players not to turn thier backs on the ball! that is the point I was making. If they make their run after the wall pass, and keep an eye on the ball some really good things would happen. first they would know where the ball is the whole time, there body would stay open to the field
i dont get it?
