... so it is also unfair, atop of the anti-love ideology of monogamy. I don't call it polygyny, I call it monoandry; one-husbandry, and I consider it even lower than monogamy. As you yourself say: Let people marry however they want! Polygyny is not about that, polygyny is about denying women to marry others... and most often, also denying homophiles to marry the ones they love, seeing as polygynists are most often (religious) conservatives.

Some women might be happy with a man that jumps from girl to girl, what monogamists might consider giving each girl its full attention when it lands on that girl, some women prefer sharing one man, and both may contain its share of happy women, but both also contains a lot of rightfully unhappy women. Can't you see it is not a good idea to deny women the privilege of multiple spouses? Monogamy is about denying your spouses to have others. Polygyny is that, too, but just with women.

@Petfal How is it a problem exactly? In N. America, a man can have as many women as he wants. He can have as many illegitimate children as possible and with the welfare, this behavior is almost encouraged. At least with polygyny , the man is taking responsibility for his actions and his children and making a commitment to take of them. I know that many of these marriages may not be happy, but do you think the women are happy with a man that jumps from girl to girl ?

The problem I have is the majority of polygamist,, are on welfare, and every goverment program possible to pay for there familys they created but cant afford.
the sensus shows that city like Colorado City and Hyndale, and other polygamy communities. take in 8 dallors for every 1 dollar they pay in taxes. That makes polygamy family a parisite in this country and a burden to the other Communities that have to support them.
