Halau Ho'omau I ka Wai Ola O Hawai'i, under the direction of Kumu Hula Manu Ikaika, perform a name chant in honor of the inauguration of President Barack Obama at the Smithsonian Institution's "Out of Many" festival. Recorded January 18, 2009 at the National Museum of the American Indian. Taken on a camera phone, so please forgive the video quality -- e kala mai ia'u!   • They should have had this at the inauguration instead of that poem.

  • And not even one pu fanfare -- what kind of inauguration is that?

    But at least it was good to see Bruddah Barry and those darling girls throwing shakas for the Punahou band in the inaugural parade. :)
