Rice N Peas Films presents a powerful expose of Australia's hidden apartheid. This is Our Country Too delves beyond Australias reputation of sun, surf and sand to reveal a nation ruptured by a deep racial divide and contested history. Taking the controversial 2007 Northern Territory Intervention as its starting point, This is Our Country Too is a hard-hitting investigation into Australia's woeful treatment of its indigenous peoples, and a rare depiction of their unrelenting struggle for justice, equality and self-determination.
aboriginals talk it up way to much, people are not seeing what Australians like my self are, they are the only ones stopping Australia from being a true multicultural country.. and by the way. ITS NOT YOUR FUCKING LAND! im beyond hearing this do you own my family's house and property. no you dont! its every single human beings land NOT YOURS and to be even more precise it gods land.. and they act like the victims when they keep blaming us for horrible things that happen to them

Such a shame that you guys are treated this way. If I ever visit Australia I want to stay with Aboriginal people and learn more about your culture. You are the indigenous!! you should be far more respected. Much love from a Black women in America* :)

i am upset more people haven't seen this video.
and that this is still happening in this day. and that this is not a well wide known issue.
the aboriginies need more attention from the world !! why dont the aboriginies go the united nations and get them to recognise their own state ?? in the same way the palestinians are now doing, and the lakota native american indians are trying to do in the usa.
a legal aboriginal state entity.
fuck white racists and their system still doing it today !

They don't like the intervention equating it to apartheid, yet they are quite happy to accept racist laws which give them special privileges to welfare and other benefits that non indiginous people don't have. Alcohol abuse, sexual abuse, alcohol related domestic violence etc... is rampant in Aboriginal communities. If they think the intervention unfairly targets them, then I'd like to know what they think is the solution.

By far my favourite class now. I have to make note that I wasn’t at all racist like you both but definitely ignorant, as you can clearly tell you both are. I am ashamed to be a part of the people that thought this kind of behaviour was acceptable. I know writing this will more than likely fall on deaf ears but i believe one person can make a difference and I speak up and i speak out against racism! Its not OK!

Time may have progressed but the attitudes of our western society has not. Your comments are a testament to this statement. We continue to colonise and oppress the aboriginal people giving them no choice but to conform and to assimilate to the western way. We have and continue to take away their identity and culture. I too have lived an ignorant life in regards to these issues until I hit uni and took an indigenous studies class purely because it fit well into my timetable.

Ok obviously your descendants of the great Captain Cook, who raped and pillaged the aboriginal community that once lived here disease and care free. I respect that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I also respect that opinions can differ but what really upsets me is when you make your judgements based upon what society and the media have fed you. Don’t be a sheep. Educate yourselves on the REAL history of Australia and the inequality that is faced daily by this race of people.
