Child Slavery - Restaveks in Haiti

A child living in servitude is often called a restavèk, a Creole word that literally means a "stay-with." But the word has come to be a foul word in Haiti, an insult one would use to say someone is worthless. And this is how restavèk children generally feel.

I agree, Haiti is in desperate need of change; a change of heart from people around the globe would be a great start. :) I'd love to help them as well but my family and I are trying to fix a messy problem here in NZ as well as for the rest of the world. There's also Cynthia McKinney (former US Congress-woman) And Alan Keyes who was the Assistant Secretary of State for the IOA... :) I can list thousands of successful black people who were given the opportunity to be educated in the system but I'm glad I've convinced you that it has nothing to do with colour. All that's wrong with Haiti is that they are lacking the resources to get them back on track. They have been completely abandoned by the world. Thank you for your replies too :)
