Riding public transportation in Bratislava can be an exciting way to learn the city and a cost effective way to get around. The network consists of buses, trams, and trolleybuses. There is a service that also connects points inside the city to some points outside the city limits. As with any city-run service, you should familiarize yourself with ticket and riding rules. Cars are often used by those living further away from the city center. The following links provide further information regarding these transportation services.

  • Yeah, of course, and Paris should be called Párizs, Milan should be called Milánó, The Hague should be called Hága, just because we Hungarians call them so. Smart.

  • OOOhhh,this is Pozsony!

    Beatiful Hungarian Lake...

  • It used to be as I wrote, I travelled once to zone 3. But I checked it and you are right, if you travel using a basic one hour ticket and you travel within its validity, you can travel to zone 3 with it. However if you happen to have a three month prepayd ticked, you must valid a 15 minutes ticket when travelling to zone 3, becouse the prepayed tickets are for zones 1, 2, or 1+2.

  • You're wrong too. "There is a special fee for zone 3, where you must validate another ticket." - That's not true. When travelling to zone 3, you DON'T need any ticket in addition to 15 and 60 minute tickets. However, 24 hours or longer tickets are not valid there (you have to use shorter ticket with standard conditions).

  • Wrong information at 1:31

You do not need to mark another ticket when travelling from zone 1 to zone 2 or 2 to 1. There is a special fee for zone 3, where you must validate another ticket. This is just s specific case and tourists won't likely travel to zone 3. Also, specific fare is border crossing bus routes 901 to Austria and the 801 to Hungary, that is expected to launch soon. On these two lines you must enter through the first door, otherwise you can entery the vehicle using any door.
