rat bikes BECOME rat bikes. they usually become rats when the owner is too busy riding for scheduled maintenance or downtime for paint.
plenty of beer cant hurt.

@dragonslayer1003 using expedient parts and methods to repair, not necessarily the proper components, whatever is available at the time. There might be more but that's the essentials of it. Most seem to be painted matt black.
