  • Sinking down is correct - and you also have to remember this is a CLASS, and you exaggerate movements so participants get it.

  • Sten originally came from Haugesund, Norway.

  • @gskiier No you wouldn't -- I suck. But I work with athletes and I know something about posture and effort.

  • @lawrenceearle i would like to see you ski.

  • @gskiier Really? Contracting the trunk into flexion will result in power during the subsequent extension? No way. There is a big difference between folding to increase the amplitude of extension, and contracting to "sink down". What Sten is doing is simply making himself work much harder.

  • @lawrenceearle I don't know how you v2 alternate, but the sinking down part is where the majority of your power comes from!!!!

  • Absolutely no reason to compress the torso the way he does. No reason to "sink down". This is really bad technique.

  • I have been looking at XC Ski videos to help me with my skike technique since the techniques are the same. I have to say this video showed me a big error I was going with my V2 alternate. I'm posting the link to the skikeforum for others to look at.
