Bullet holes in his mirror....always thought Tonight's the Night was Neils best album. These guys were boozed up before performing most of this set in clubs. Only made it better.

Specifics aside, the song has taken a UNIVERSAL APPEAL to the loved ones, family members, brothers sisters, father mothers and friends of those that caught - a ride - a one way ticket and never came back. No matter how hard we tried they would not open their tired eyes, take our advice, no – “well it wasn’t suppose to go down that way” but it did ---- RIP

Its about a double murder in topanga valley, where NY lived at the time. The Doctor, a local dealer and musician shot a big time dealer after that guy shot his friend and partner in crime. The Doctor wasnt a bad guy, he had to defend himself. It was a key happening that catches the change from the sixties to the seventies.
