Muhammad Yunus, the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, has helped provide very small loans to millions of villagers in rural Bangladesh, enabling poor women to lift their families out of extreme poverty. The full video is available at www.izzit.org and U.S. teachers in grades 6-12 can apply to receive a DVD of this program for free!
He is a Bengali professor who in the age old tradition from the days of the Bengali renaissance and before kept his religion out of his politics. Atheism out dates Christianity and Islam in Bangladesh as well as scholarly pursuits. I despise people who simply label someone as something which may have had little to do with his contribution to humanity. Bengalis are not arabs. We fought against oppression in a revolution for freedom and you come with your pre conceived notions of us. For shame.
