Christopher Coleman will spend the rest of his life in jail and be spared the death penalty for the murders of his wife and two young sons, a judge decided Monday afternoon.
Coleman looked straight at the judge during sentencing but showed no reaction after the sentence was delivered.
"Life in prison without the possibility of parole," Circuit Judge Milton Wharton said, for the deaths of Sheri, Garett and Gavin Coleman.
On Monday morning after Coleman waived his right to be sentenced by a jury, Wharton warned Coleman that, unlike jurors, he had seen all the evidence in the case, including things he ruled were too prejudicial to allow into the trial.
