I think the reason they made it so unbelievably hard and boring was because the ending was going to suck so much! And because their mission was to make you want to stop playing because it's so hard.

Ha ha ha ASS. Never beat this game when I was young. But my brother and I got it later in it's release so I was only like 4 or 5 at the time. Glad I finally got to see how it ends.
