The Futures are basically a West Philly group. I grew up on 62nd n Arch. Keith Stafford I believe drummed for them and he lived on unit block of 61st St. That's 61st bet Mkt n Arch. Bad,bad boys f'SHO!
Can't believe this is here. Went to to school with some of these guys. Sat at shows many a nite with the my organ player. Vel is still hanging in there playing. Buy his CD Shady Grady.
I looked for this song for years under the wrong title. When I found it, I was in heaven. I always loved the intro to the song. Their harmonies always tight. Wish that Boys II Men would do some home grown music and take selections from the Futures catalog. So that others who don't know about the music of the Futures can reach back for the original and see how awesome and underrated the group is.
Thanks so much to TheSoulhawk for posting this song and picture of the original AMJO label! This brings back many memories of the recording session, and the excitement of hearing our record on the radio. I am the organist on this record, and yes, both Kenny Crew and Richard Wright (who also sang on this record) passed away. Harry McGilberry also passed away a few years ago. God bless them all and may they rest in peace. Thanks to everyone for keeping this group's music alive!
