Battlestar Galactica - Escape

This was a video I did in 3DS Max for my Diploma of Multimedia. The whole thing took me well over 3 months to do, rendering alone took 170 hrs on a 5 pc renderfarm as some scenes were changed several times.
I also had to cope with Blackspot removal on the Raider/Flak Scene which meant taking around 200-300 frames into Photoshop and fixing it there.
I was really pressed for time towards the end and there were a couple of things I could have done to improve it a bit however I had to get it into Premiere then into Encore for my presentation. Luckilly I got it done after pulling an allnighter, 1 hour before the presentation was due. Encore did some really weird things to it along with Premiere but this was the final result Uncompressed its 700 megs and around 5300 frames done at 25fps. Used Final Flares for the warp sequences. Figuring out material on the missile trails was probaly one of the hardest things along with the flak. Learnt something new everyday doing this.
The modellers were all credited at the end, models obtained from sci-fi 3d and sci fi meshes.
As the video was presented on DVD in the lecture theatre some of the credits might confuse people. Alot of the music listed was used in the DVD itself.

Very very nice, I was thinking of doing somthing close to this for college since am in a 3ds class. But Just a space battle thing but Am having trouble trying to find a tutorial to designing a battlestar or basestar them selves

@Arctic200 Dont think there are any tutorials out there for those. You can get models at Sci Fi Meshes, Sci Fi 3D and also Foundation 3D. If there are any tutorials you more than likely will find them at Foundation3D. it may be a Lightwave forum but the principals are the same and work in Max as well. You will have to join the sites, which is free to be able to download anything though. Just remember if you do use someones models to credit them and get permission from the author as well.
