5 psi boosted launch in my fist gen cummins. i hit 60 mph, 34 psi boost, 1100 pyro, trans temp is not hooked up yet because i cannot decide what to do with the trans. i have several other vids of this truck
you let off from a high boost run the veins close down quickly causing the turbo to speed up the slow down then speed up agian really fast putting alot of stress on the shaft.
@jacobstern14048 for a turbo set up on forst gens with the early 18cm exhaust housing its not going to hurt it. there is a chance of barking the turbo so bad that it ruins the veins but you need to do it a lot with a lot of boost and heat, i do try and rev the engine a few times real quick to help it spool down slower but there is usually enough drive pressure to keep it safe. now where you run into issues is with the mechanically controlled variable geometry turbos, because when
is it bad when the turbo blows off like that? ive heard no, i mean cars with a turned up turbo do it but ive heard some people say on the first gens its bad?
i wonder why someone would dislike this video? weird haha
