you don't need to worry about buying a laptop preinstalled with ubuntu....dell may suck but i just got a laptop from a company called system76...google it!!!!!

No, god no, don't buy it preinstalled. The distro it comes with sucks so much cock it's not even funny. You're getting the 10v or 10 i presume, because I think those are their only available netbooks at the moment. Its laggy as shit, and it'll just ruin your linux experience if you're new to it.
Just install it via USB. Just looking out for your best interest

cool cuz i'm thinking of getting a Ubuntu preinstalled netbook from dell, and they don't ship with the newest version,, they come with 8.04 and of course they don't have cd drives.

Yeah I had it dual booting on my Windows box.....it seems decent...i really wish they'd do something to shake up the UI a little.

oh yeah, it was pretty sweet. when i installed it i had no top panel so it was nothing but wallpaper and then after 10 mins it popped up, so idk what the deal that is.
i just found firefox to be unresponsive, but i love the new boot login screen.
