razers1, yes im still the door closer expert, even though they are not labelled with S, L or BC, what i would do is try the other 2 screws (one at a time) until you see it slow down, hope this helps, tell makes different series of closers, sorry for such generic instructions, but withuot knowing the series, the instructions i gave should help figure out what screw does what, good luck

@JLD902 Hey, are you still an expert in these door closers?? Mine badly needs adjusting and i have no idea exactly what the three adjusting screws do. The damn door gently and beautifully eases shut, but with 6 inches to go, it unleashes the speed and fury of a meteorite!
I know the center hole adjusts the speed of the close, but the other two are mysteries. Any help you could offer would be great!

@JLD902 It looks like this hydraulic door closer was installed without the bar sticking out. If so do you know if this can be done with a heavier gym door? Thanks for any help.
