John's campaign seems to have taken on a a life of it's own now... things shift and change - this video was taken last Summer when he first hit the headline in Cork, since then there's been lots more happening interspersed with not a lot happening. I re-visit this because a new collective consciousness of love is emerging around John...
Summer fun and excitement at mine in West Cork (in a valley up a mountain in the middle of nowhere) with Brian, Kayla and the kids when John Hunt's story finally hit the front page news (in Cork city, where he is incarcerated) in the Cork Independent newspaper, thanks to Christine Allen and John McCarthy. Many others too - such as MindFreedom Ireland, Asylum Associates, Beyond Meds and EleMental UK - had got us to that point, that first big hurdle - getting his story out in the city it was happening in... and now, since then, many others across Ireland and the globe have joined our campaign to Free John. I have been searching for alternatives and campaigning for John's release for almost 5 years from home whilst raising the kids. I am confident that the Universe has indeed come together to help us in our quest - a kind of collective alchemy - not only to free John and countless others but to transform mental health.
A lot of it has been an uphill, lonely slog but days like this were full of joy as all my hard work began to pay off as the injustice to John became public news. And the brilliant, kind and compassionate people I have met along my journey have been inspirational. I have felt privileged to meet them all. They have reinforced my belief in humanity, love and hope. Whenever I have hit a low ebb, a new person/ guide/ teacher/ healer/ friend comes along and renews my strength and lovingly picks up the campaign for us. The collective consciousness at work. We can transform the world - "transformation begins with us". Some kind of coming-together for him. It's beautiful. Just like it did on this day here. Wish I could bottle the essence of these alchemical days to get me through the dark, lonely, hopeless ones...
Unfortunately, psychiatric conditioning, forced drugging and iatrogenic dependency has got the better of John and he is now afraid to leave the institution. He has half-fallen under it's spell, through the necessity to survive. But we will find a way to release him from this half-life of corridors and keys, this twilight, bewitched zone of dark and strange psychiatry. Then he can embark on his healing journey home to integration and be free to explore his visions and voices/ emotional overwhelm with loving support, rather than these experiences being suppressed and denied.

PPS. Sorry about the messy bits in my house... I'm not afraid to show you my mess! As you can see, the kids have thrashed the upstairs.
Thankfully, though, I have invested in a better bra, just need a corset for my wobbly tummy now! Ah feck it - who cares? I'm a curvy kind of Goddess!
