if you want to skip forward to seconds 25-42, you'll hear a soft knocking noise coming from the engine. I started from a stop sign and rolled on the throttle, did not fully let out the clutch and revved harder. then came a LOUD pop from the engine and then the rpm began to rise. This weird knocking sound is making me a bit concerned so I want to know what your thoughts are. I'm going to bring it to my local shop to have them check it out too.

  • I don't think i blew the clutch, I also brought it to a shop to have it checked out. They said it's normal...i dont know. I think the main culprit is the engine running lean because whenever i'm riding on a cold night and I roll the throttle hard, especially up an incline, it makes popping noises.

  • noticed this vids a year old. out of interest mine makes the exact same noise. How is the bike now? Cheers.

  • Mine is doing the same thing...what was the resolution?

    Regards.

  • @j0rzeh I just rebuilt mine and it has a LOUD knocking sound.... really annoying. I noticed one valve was very low and/or missing a shim so i think that might be it..... did he ever find out what it was?

  • My 2007 with 6300KM on it does the same sound. I was told it was just the way the bikes sound.

However, I have a different noise that sounds awful when letting the clutch out and starting to roll at rpm around 1500 to 3500. If its higher it isn't as bad. No idea what that is.

  • Mine does this as well my boyfriend has rebuilt the bike (machanic as a job) Still does it it's normal for worn in engines.

  • Did you blow the clutch?
