I'm not the one who made the world what it is today
I'm not the one who caused the problems started long ago
But now I deal with all the consequences that troubles our times
I carry on and never once have even questioned why
I'm innocent
But the weight of the world is on my shoulders
I'm innocent
But the battles started are far from over
We're not the ones who leave the homeless in the streets at night
We're not the ones who've kept minorities and women down
Still, we grow and then the problems, they become our own
We carry on without even realizing why
(CHORUS:)
We're innocent
But the weight of the world is on our shoulders
We're innocent
But the battles left us are far from over
We're not the ones whose pollution blackened our skies
And ruined our streams
We're not the ones who made the nuclear bombs
That threaten our lives
We're not the ones who let the children starve in faraway lands
We're not the ones who made the streets unsafe to walk at night
And even if we try and not become so overwhelmed
And if we make some contribution to the plight we see
Still, our descendants will inherit our mistakes of today
They'll suffer just the same as we and never wonder why.

  • i'm not the one who made the world the world it is today.

  • Fuck, the kids of today have it far better than kids of any previous generation. Sure, the mainstream sucks pretty hard, but it always has for the most part. Kids of today have the internet which means they can actually search for new music much easier than previous generations, they don't jave to take what the radio gives them. They can actually go out and find good music. Hell,we all can. The internet has opened the doors and we no longer have to depend on what the radio plays.

  • This is the music I had when I was growing up. I was in 7th grade back in '94 when this album came out, and I took this granted. I feel terribly bad for the kids of today who have nothing but shitty Linkin Park-esque garbage, and I absolutely loathe the ones who actually like it. But was I wrong to take quality music like the Offspring for granted? I mean, really, isn't this what music should still be like?

  • @EnCrypticon23x heavy compression at work... google the loudness war

  • wtf's with the volume spiking up and down around 2:30...

  • @IslamIstheWayforMe yeah this guy isnt joking something really big is goin to happen the rebels in the middle east are just thugs in gaddafis words. believe it or not gaddafi wasn't one of the really bad guys. He came into power through a low conflict coup and provided the citizens with double the wages of egypt. Arab countries are dangerous because the arabs are poor but they are intelligent so the middle east has a lot of nutters in it, just accept christ and read the bible and youl be fine

  • applies to all generations

    past, present and future
