The video features the launch of micro insurance schemes in Dhading and Banke districts of Nepal. The Microinsuance Academy (MIA) along with the support of its consortium partners, Save the Children, Nirdhan & DEPROSC has successfully launched 'Community Based Micro Health Insurance' in Nepal (Dhading in January 2011 and Banke in June 2011).
MIA's 'Community Based Micro Health Insurance' covers over 5000 individuals in Nepal. Furthermore, MIA with its consortium partners is communicating with the local health care providers to provide discounts to the community and is in discussions to set up a 'National Advisory Board' for microinsurance with various policy makers in Nepal.
