My son and I got struck on a beautiful sunny day, just walking from the house to the truck (not far). There was a distant roll of thunder, but far away. May explain why we're still alive. I don't know, but I sure have new respect for that distant roll!

if you can hear it, then you're close enough to be struck! Thats why i wear ear plugs during thunderstorms :)
