@TheMinersmadness It is. each pixel is a very simple circuit (just two and gates :P) but a lot of them lined up like here LOOKS complicated. But really, it's not.

Would there be a way of remembering the last 5 button pushes. Then you could use a 'ready light' signal people sometimes use to tell you when you can hit a button into it so the signal for that button is fired and all the 'previous' signals cycle forward and wait for another ready to send the next one. This may sound complicated but I would be happy to explain more thoroughly if needed. I think this may solve the problem you have when pressing buttons too fast.
