Welcome to Episode 23 of Jake versus Japan!

Before we left Nara, we needed to see the world's largest bronze statue of Buddha. That's what this video is about. It truly was an amazing sight but the lines were ridiculously long. Hope you guys enjoy!

  • Thats a lot of waiting.

  • @Oty3d Yeah, we almost said forget it, but I'm glad I didn't. That building was really spectacular.

  • The last time I went there I was stopped by some young school children whom wanted to talk English. But it is a great place to visit.

  • @Theytoldmetodoit1 I love that about Kansai. So many people were much more open to talk to foreigners.

  • Nice upload! Keep the vids coming! :)

  • @xoxChineseRulerx Thanks! Working on the next one right now.

  • God, it's been too long since I've visited this...

Wanna go back to Japan T_T

  • @jakesinjapan Oh, why, thank you sir. Your too kind. ;P

  • @TubaBuddha I was thinking that it had something to do with a graduation ceremony or something. That is true about dai meaning "The Great." I actually changed the name of this episode from The Great Buddha to the Big Buddha simply because I thought it was funnier. Hmm, I may have to check those out.

  • @jakesinjapan How many people do they accept? It's a year right...?

A part of my family actually lives in Japan for work, so they have rooms in an apartment in Shinjyuku...so waseda would be really close!

  • @PorscheGTIII It really was. One of the main reasons I wanted to go to Japan was to see all of the old architecture.

  • @3greviews I am kinda biased towards Jochi. It is a great school and it's not that big, so it's very easy to meet people. I really don't know much about Waseda though.

  • @Crush777 I think people rub it for good luck. Glad you appreciate the PiP. This was one of my first times messing around with that, and boy was it tedious.
