Rescue Me - by Terri Onorato

Rescue me not only with your hands but with your heart as well. I will respond to you.

Rescue me not out of pity but out of love. I will love you back.

Rescue me not with self-righteousness but with compassion. I will learn what you teach.

Rescue me not because of my past but because of my future. I will relax and enjoy.

Rescue me not simply to save me but to give me a new life. I will appreciate your gift.

Rescue me not only with a firm hand but with tolerance and patience. I will please you.

Rescue me not only because of who I am but who I'm to become. I will grow and mature.

Rescue me not to revere yourself to others but because you want me. I will never let you down.

Rescue me not with a hidden agenda but with a desire to teach me to trust. I will be loyal and true.

Rescue me not to be chained or to fight but to be your companion. I will stand by your side.

Rescue me not to replace one you've lost but to sooth your spirit. I will cherish you.

Rescue me not to be your pet but to be your friend. I will give you unconditional love.

Rescue me with true love in your heart and I will give you these things all the days of my life.

Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network is a National Not-For-Profit 501(c)3 rescue organization that was formed to rescue purebred Cairn Terriers and Cairn Terrier mixes. CPCRN facilitates the pick-up and transport of these dogs, arranges for their spay/neuter in addition to other appropriate veterinary care, rehabs and fosters and then seeks applications and screens permanent "forever homes".

  • I have a rescue Cairn x from a UK rescue charity. They rock as a breed and they are very special dogs.

  • I've done a couple of home safety inspections for this group, as well as adopting a 3 y/o male who lost part of his ear due to frostbite while living at a puppy mill, and I am so impressed with the love and care this group provides. I am very grateful to my rescue's foster mom!

  • What happy people & cairns!! Thanks Col. Potter volunteers for all that you do!

  • Sorry you didn't get in the video, the call went out to the foster homes for pictures but I don't remember when.

  • Awesome video! Thank you Col Potter.

  • What a WONDERFUL Presentation!

What I kept thinking as I watched this video was " I can take a deep breath now for I am Home! ".

However, I was wondering why My Cairn Rescue from 2008 was not included in the video ? We adopted CASSIOPEIA ( Cassi) ...aka Grimsey, Sissy, Sadie ...at the end of August 2008.

She is doing fantastic at her home here in Hunlock Creek, Penna, with her 3 other Step family cairns! She brings us Joy every day!

I won't tell her that you forgot her...sniffle!

  • It just doesn't get any better than this!

  • I'm a volunteer for for the group and did the intake for 3 of the dogs in the video. The day those dogs were rescued they were filthy, matted and terrified. When I saw the video of how beautiful and HAPPY they looked on their adoption day, I cried. And cried again to see how happy their new moms and dads look! "Saving just one dog won't change the world, but it surely will change the world for that one dog."

  • We just keep on doing what we do, minute by minute, day by day, caring for our Colonel Potter Cairns and helping them on to their forever homes. This photo collection is such a wonderful punctuation mark at the end of 2008. Thank you for the inspiration to keep on keeping on.

  • We know what we do is good work, and that we are making a difference, but when I look at these videos - I choke up, cannot speak and have to wait to gather my thoughts to write. I am simply amazed every single day with this organization and the family that it has provided us. Not only through our CRM members, but the family we gather as we send our beloved fosters on to their dream of forever. My heart is full, my soul is smiling, I am forever in your debt. Amy
