@bmays002 The first turbo Buick V6 (3.8) came out in '76, while the first Chevy 90 degree V6 came out in 78'. The Buick V6 dates back to 1961, but since the Chevy is so very similar to the small block Chevy, I would say it's far to give it credit back to 1955's 4.3L 265 V8. Just sayin

@lilric64 before you call me a dumbass, you might want to go to school and learn to read and write. Other than that, I agree with you, and I have no idea why I said 100%. The only similarities are the idea and the turbo.

@GMisurdaddy I'm sorry, I know it's not 100% and I knew that when I posted the comment over 2 years ago. No idea why I said that. About the only similarities between the two is the idea and the fact that they are both turbo. And yeah, everything else you said is true, dating all the way back to the early 60s with the 3.2 V6 and all. And for the record, I'd take a 3.8 GN motor or any 3800 over a 4.3 any day. The SFI 3800 (1987 to 1991) is the icing on my cake.

@2fit661ca The 4.3 in the Syclone is based on the 5.7L or 350 Chevy V8. The Buick 3.8 on the other hand is a different animal, although still at 90 degress and based on a V8 like the 4.3 V6, the Buick 3.8 was based on the 215 aluminum V8 that GM sold the design to land rover, GM however kept the V6 design based on it.
So the 4.3 is not 100% based on the Buick V6

It looked to me as if the GN still won, but either way great run for both vehicles. Would love to have either one of those beasts.

Both bad-ass rides. Both are v6 turbo's. It doesn't matter what the specs are, or the all wheel drive. Just rest assured that these would whoop the asses of anything else on the road that isn't GM!!!!!!!

The syclone's 4.3L V6 engine is a small block Chevy with 2 cylinders chopped off. These V6 motors where around years before the GNX, just the idea to turbo one came from the GNX.

@2fit661ca fool u stupid, syclone is base off from the 4.3l and gn is off from the 3.8l, there's a differences dumbass, either way GN kickass better!!!!
in the typhoons and syclones the 4.3 L LB4 V6 engine came with unique pistons, main caps, head gaskets, intake manifolds, fuel system, exhaust manifolds, and a 48mm twin bore throttle body from the 5.7 L GM Small-Block engine not based on the 3.8 GN motor at all. infact the 700r4 tranny would probably hold up better at higher speed and put power to the ground better at a higher speed than the 200r the GNs had over all i think either way on the highway or on the street they are just faster

the syclone has the advantage at the line because of it's AWD, it takes off as soon as the gas is punched instead of peeling tires, but it still has that 4L60-E tranny with a low top end unlike the GN's 200r, so on the highway, the GN would definitely kick ass, but in town, stop-light to stop-light, the syclone would rule. both have a 0-60 of 4.6 seconds, and the syclone's engine is 100% based off of the 3.8 in the GN, only the GN had more work by McClaren, (yes, i know the GNX was the1 they blt
