Re: Zune HD App Marketplace

Why did Microsoft seperate Marketplace to two versions, one for Zune and another for Windows Mobile? Wouldn't it make more sense there was one Marketplace shared by the two platforms to attract a wider range of customers and expose it to a larger market? I think this is a bad move from Microsoft.

i have a canadian account for zune and i own a zune hd 32 gb but the only problem is that i dont have the marketplace in my zune software so how can i appear the marketplace so i can download apps for my zune hd

Unfortunately, MarketPlace doesn't support Canada yet. It's a US feature as far as I know. But all other features on the ZuneHD should work fine.

i think cause the apps on zune hd wont work on windows mobile so they made 2 different stores.

It could work perfectly fine under Windows Mobile 7 when it comes out since it will run on premium hardware (maybe NVIDIA Tegra too). But phone manufacturers can also bump up hardware choices for WM6.5 too.

Maybe they'll marge the two whenever Windows Phone 7 comes out. But who knows, just a guess.

ok, i fix the problem of the marketplace by setting my area in the US so i have the marketplace but when i download the apps,

there have only the: Calucator, poker, goo-splat, chess, msn weather, shell game, space battlle 2 , sudoku, and hexic.

i thought mircosoft have other apps like the racing game and MSn?

WM 6.x and ZuneHD are two different platforms as you point out, so different versions of the apps will need to be created for both at this time. Conceptually the app stores are the same, they just contain apps specific to the platform that they support.
