@swtrooper11 Actually he is bringing the engines out of whats called "feather", where the blade is at a very high pitch and spinning very slow, basically slapping against the air. When he brings it out of feather and into ground idle, the blade pitch changes to a neutral position, where it is neither pushing or pulling air, basically chopping through it and the RPM increases, making the loud "beta" noise. It is not reverse thrust like someone mentioned earlier.

@swtrooper11 Yes, what happens is when they land and move the throttle to reverse what happens is the blade as you said changes but this time into a negative angle, so instead of it actually producing power to move the aircraft forward its actually reversing thrust to slow it down, so it would give a different sound. hope it helps again
