  • what are those eggs?

  • Thank you chapazappa with your explanation, now I really understand the whole dimension of this easy and fun activity.I did the spooning using regular soup spoons and rice and the kids were so happy. They all want to try it so we need to make two groups of three, besides they also learn to take turns and to have patience. We all were so happy!

  • Yes i agree, because this is also a pre writing and reading exercise, we read and write from left to write so its important to enstill this habbit and there is no better place than practical life.

  • but for all we know someone that edited the video could have mixed them up

  • As she should do it both ways but she should have started on the left. The aim of this activity is to lay a foundation for writing and reading. You read from left to right. Presentations are just one way that Montessori kinesthetically and subconsciously teaches reading readiness. Montessorians are trained to show most activities from left to right. So it does matter.

  • well if you were smart enough to notice it doesn't matter

    she did it both ways

  • Just wanted to comment that you should have started the work from the left. The goal of this activity is not only to teach them not to spill or how to use a scoop but it is much bigger than that. They lay the foundation for writing. It helps children with concentration, coordination, control, independence, and order. Practical life activities also strengthen muscles involved for writing and the child would develop better writing skills by doing them.
