@peugteobike - short answer is, yes (I'm guessing you are thinking Analog and Digital) the issues though is the Analog channels use the same frequencies now used by Digital channels - it's the receiver that does the decoding the Dish reflects those frequencys into the Low Noise Block which down converts the signal so that it can be sent down the cable to the receiver - the receiver then has to decode the information and it tunes to one specific frequncy symbolrate and FEC (if it's a digital rec.

I wouldn't have one that large on my roof though. Winds could tear it down and partially destroy your roof. I love the signals from the C band dishes and is getting one of my own to pick up channels from around the U.S. My Ku band is okay, but only picks up channels from outside the U.S.
