i disagree.. i clean mine every 4-5 days and the water it collects is very dirty.. i'm happy with it.
maybe you don't know how to install it properly....

i think it is the pump issue, it seems not fully make enough bubble for skimming. You can try use the air pump and connect it into the air flow. I think it will more better. I'm currently use this skimmer, Sure it will not skim green / brown or black. At lease it will skim some yellow... sure it just suit for small tank use.

dude i had 1 of them for a 2 years and was fine if u use it correctly xD besides u need fish and corals in main tank to make proteins and other staff otherwise even best skimmer will not do anything!

There was fish and corals in there and it still never worked,as soon as i put the Tunze 9002 in, it started to skimm
