    I disagree as well. He was a woman beater and he was quite cruel to his own son, Julian. What kind of a peaceful man tells his son "I f#cking hate the way you laugh."

    For John, I am not sure that he was so much about peace as he was about self promotion and staying in the media. I mean, I think he cared and all, but at that time it was very chic and "cool" to be involved with the left and the peace movement. After the spirit of the hippie movement died down and the youthful exuberance returned to youthful apathy, so did the peace movement.

    Don't get me wrong though. I'm not saying John was only doing it to be cool, but I think it was 60% promotion 40% peace.
