NOME, Alaska - A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew lands on a frozen sea ice sheet on Jan. 18, 2012. Coast Guard ice landings are extremely rare, requiring extensive safety testing of ice prior to execution. U.S. Coast Guard photo by Petty Officer Eric J. Chandler.

@pepsibookcat You roll your eyes because they missed christmas with thier familys to get oil to nome. Guess the people of nome would have enjoyed christmas with thier familys just before they froze to death in the -20 degree winter up there. These men enlisted in a branch of the military. Sacrificing holidays is something they accept.
