Australian coverage of our recent election here in Kenya shows that they are understanding of our crisis. They see our need for aid in Kenya, and the need elsewhere in Africa for immigration as refugees.
But Australia is offering neither. Australia prefers to observe and report and does nothing to assist in our time of need.
Australia has completely halted all black African immigration to their country since October 2007. Not even bona-fide refugees from Africa are acceptable to Australians. This action was undertaken by their government in contravention of the UN Human Rights Charters to which Australia is a signatory, and also in spite of our mutual membership to the Commonwealth of Nations.
No one has said that Kenyans needed to come to Australia on humanitarian grounds. As much as what took place in that country was horrendous the country still remains one of the most vibrant nations in Africa. You seem to think that all black people are dirt poor and always in need of relocation to escape wars and famine. But then with a slanted media that focuses on negative issues your attitude can only remain that way.

What's your obsession with Australia? There's no reason why Australia has any more obligation to take in these people than any other country, especially when we already have taken so many into this country with water shortages and only 21 million people. The goverment didn't ban African immigration, they cut the intake of African refugees back to a 1/3 of total refugee intake for the year ending in 2008 so quit lying. The people here don't owe you anything anyway.
