This is me covering "Seek & Destroy" by the legendary Metallica on the guitar.
The guitar I used is a Gibson Explorer with EMG 85 & 89 pickups and a Stetsbar whammy. The amplifier is a Fender Champ of 1975, with a Hughes & Kettner Tubeman distortion pedal.

  • I suppose people are true about EMG's being cold...but I do love the cold.

  • @mactavishc Keep in mind that this is one of my oldest videos and its quality isn't that great. EMGs with a good amp & guitar can really make a difference. :)

  • Keep on Rocking !!

  • Nice guitar & playing! I prefer the stantard 500 pu, than EMG's, because i don't like actives; they sound a bit cold, lack of dynamic.

Can you tell me something about your Tubeman's distortion? (gain, definition, quality of sound?) thanks!!

  • @naughtypersian I do agree that you can get used to it but I think it would still hold you back. At least that's the case when I try to have the guitar as low as Hetfield does.

Thank you for the feedback though! :) Have a look at my latest video if you will, this one's rather old! :p

  • @Xpl0ReRChR still possible 2 do though. its just alot more difficult basically you sacrifice coolness for comfort lol but if you play slung low for a while you can get used to it. haha but do ur thing man \m/

  • is it hard to lock the strings with the stetsbar?

  • Ha, I do the same thing, when its a really easy palm muted riff, I strum the shit out of it.

  • @Xpl0ReRChR well then its all good, everyone is different in a way.

  • @Meticullamaster It's perfectly normal if you're comfortable with it, my friend :)

  • @Xpl0ReRChR Yeah your right, i think its more of a comfort thing, but im a lead guitarist and i play mine pretty low is that normal???

  • @Meticullamaster Well yeah, but it makes it harder, while there's no real reason to do so other than "looks". You'll find that most, if not all lead guitarists, have their guitar higher than rhythm guitarists.
